Plain-English summary
Frontline Communications is recalling certain model year 2006-2011 Electronic News Gathering (ENG) vehicles built on a Ford E-350 chassis. These vehicles were manufactured between October 31, 2006, and July 12, 2011, and are equipped with an aftermarket rear anti-sway bar.
The recall addresses a defect where the rear anti-sway bar frame mounting bolt threads may come into contact with the steel hydraulic brake line. If metal-to-metal abrasion occurs, the brake line may eventually rupture, causing a loss of hydraulic service brake pressure. This loss of pressure may prevent the driver from controlling the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Frontline will notify owners, and local Ford dealers and Frontline authorized service facilities will perform repairs free of charge. The manufacturer began contacting owners by telephone on July 12, 2011. Owners may also contact Frontline Communications at 1-727-573-0400 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
