Volvo Cars of N.A. LLC. is recalling certain model year 2012 S60 passenger cars manufactured between January 18, 2011, and January 28, 2011. The recall addresses a defect in the fuel system where the male part of the fuel line quick connector was produced with dimensions out of specification.

This manufacturing error can lead to excessive assembly force on the female connector assembly, which may prevent the locking function from engaging. If the connector detaches, the engine may stall, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, a fuel leak could occur, which poses a fire risk if it comes into contact with an ignition source. Owners may notice a fuel smell or leakage.
