Koni North America Recalls 30-Series Shock Absorbers Due to Weld Defect

Koni North America is recalling certain aftermarket, 30-series shock absorbers, specifically part numbers 30-1720 and 30-1721. The recall involves 525 units. The defect is that the eye loop weld to the eye base did not have enough weld penetration, which could result in a failed weld.
The shock eye could separate from the base of the shock, causing failure of the shock absorber. This failure could result in loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
