Daimler Trucks North America is recalling certain Thomas Built Buses HDX, SAF-T-LINER C2, and MVP-EF school buses manufactured between March 17, 2009, and December 7, 2009. These vehicles are equipped with Stabilus Bloc-O-Lift driver seats (P/N 5561ED) that have a defect in the weld holding the mounting tab to the shock body.
The improper weld can break, causing the driver's seat to drop unexpectedly without prior warning. This sudden movement could result in a momentary loss of steering control, possibly leading to a crash. The recall affects 294 vehicles.
