The recall involves 18,821 vehicles where the power cables running to the power distribution unit and driver's control module may have been installed with the lug flat side up.
This specific installation orientation allows vibration to wear down the cable insulation over time. This wear can permit direct contact between the bare lug and the electrical components, causing a direct short in the electrical system. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration notes that this condition could result in a fire.
