Treadmill Magnetic Safety Tether May Fail to Stop During Fall

Full Vision Inc. TrackMaster treadmills with specific serial numbers have a circuit defect that may prevent the magnetic safety tether from stopping the treadmill during a fall.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: This is a risk-of-harm product classified as FDA Class II with a safety function defect, but no injuries have been reported. The emergency stop mechanism may fail during a fall scenario; however, actual harm has not yet occurred.

Plain-English summary

Full Vision Inc. is recalling 106 units of the TrackMaster TMX428 110V treadmill (Model #317-07926) due to a circuit defect affecting the magnetic safety tether.

A latch-up condition can occur in the circuit that controls the safety tether on the treadmill's control PCB. When the magnetic tether is pulled loose—such as during a fall—the treadmill may fail to stop.

Affected units were distributed to Wisconsin, Georgia, New York, and Mexico. Serial numbers range from FVDC-7585 through FVDC-7737. Owners of affected treadmills should contact Full Vision Inc. for further information.
