The recall follows foreign objects, described in the enforcement record as black plastic planting material, in granulated onion.

The recall covers 3,556 cases, each brand carrying its own lot code as listed in the enforcement record. The firm distributed the product to 7 retail customers across 42 locations in Kentucky, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Virginia, Missouri, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Washington, Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Texas, Ohio, North Dakota and Oregon, and to one customer in Costa Rica. The FDA has classified the action as Class II.

Customers holding affected lots should not use the product and should follow the firm's instructions.
