The recall involves the model CZ-520 Space Saver Baseboard Heater, which was manufactured in 1995 and sold nationwide from September 1995 through March 1996 for about $60. The heaters were sold at major department stores and home centers.

The fan in the recalled heaters can become stuck, causing the unit to overheat. This malfunction poses a fire hazard. Duracraft has received 20 reports of units overheating, producing smoke, or causing fire, resulting in minor property damage. The company is not aware of any injuries involving the heater.

Consumers should stop using these heaters immediately, even if they appear to be functioning properly. To identify the affected units, look for the model number CZ-520 on a silver sticker on the bottom of the heater and a date code beginning with "95" on a small white sticker.
