The products were manufactured and distributed nationwide between May 1983 and May 1986.

The recall is due to reports of 12 incidents where the Model 34 Swivel failed by separating at the swivel elbow, and an equal number of failures for the Model 33-C. One recent incident involving a Model 33-C resulted in severe burns to a service station pump user who was sprayed with gasoline that later ignited. Approximately 31,000 Model 33-C units and 53,000 Model 34 units may still be in service.
