Plain-English summary
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is recalling JINHEZO Mini Waterproof LED Tea Lights due to a risk of serious injury or death from battery ingestion. The recalled products are circular, clear tea lights with a white base, approximately 1 inch in diameter and 1.14 inches tall. They are sold in packs of 24 lights, which include 48 coin-cell batteries (two per light). The hazard exists because the button batteries can be easily accessed by children, violating the mandatory safety standard for consumer products with button cell and coin batteries. Additionally, the packaging and product lack the warnings required under Reese's Law. If swallowed, these batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns, and death.
About 2,798 units of the recalled tea lights were sold online at Amazon.com from March 2024 through July 2026 for between $16 and $20 per pack. The products were imported by Shenzhen Jinhe Trade Co., Ltd., dba Mystic ZO, of China. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
Consumers should stop using the recalled LED Tea Lights immediately and contact Mystic Zo for a full refund. To receive a refund, consumers must email their order number or bar code number, if available, along with a photo of the tea lights disposed of in the trash to [email protected]. Button cell batteries are hazardous and should be disposed of or recycled by following local hazardous waste procedures.
