Igloo 90 Qt. Rolling Coolers Recalled for Fingertip Amputation Risk

Igloo has expanded its recall of 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers due to tow handle pinching hazards that can cause fingertip amputation or crushing injuries. About 130,000 additional coolers manufactured prior to January 2024 are affected.

Plain-English summary

Igloo Products Corp. is expanding its recall of 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers. The tow handle can pinch consumers' fingertips against the cooler body, posing risks of fingertip amputation and crushing injuries. This expansion involves approximately 130,000 additional coolers (plus about 20,000 in Canada and 5,900 in Mexico) manufactured prior to January 2024, in addition to more than one million coolers recalled in February 2025.

Affected models include the LATITUDE 90 QT ROLLER (Model 34692, manufactured 07/2020–09/2021, and Model 34785, manufactured 10/2021–12/2022) and the MAXCOLD LATITUDE 90 QT ROLLER (Model 34790, manufactured 10/2021–02/2023). The model number is located on labels affixed to the cooler bottom. The manufacturing date code is imprinted on the cooler bottom in a circular pattern with an arrow pointing to the month and last two digits of the year. These coolers were sold at Costco, Target, Academy, Dick's, and other stores nationwide and online from January 2019 through January 2025 for between $80 and $140.

Since the recall was announced in February 2025, Igloo has received 78 reports of fingertip injuries, including 26 resulting in fingertip amputations, bone fractures, or lacerations. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled coolers. Igloo will provide a free replacement handle.
