The shades feature long operating cords that can cause serious injury or death to children. The recalled shades were available in white, gray, and black, in sizes ranging from 20 to 44 inches wide and 72 inches high, with "Desheng" printed on the label on the top of the valance cover. About 545 units were distributed.

The recalled window shades violate federal regulations for window coverings and federal labeling requirements for window coverings. No injuries have been reported. The distributor is LuckUpShein, of China.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled window shades and cut the operating cord. Contact LuckupShein by email at [email protected] or visit http://luckupshein.com/recall for more information. The company will provide a free repair consisting of a replacement operating cord device. Consumers will be asked to send a photo of the recalled product with the operating cord cut, and once received, will be sent a replacement operating cord wand device with installation instructions.
