Severe Weather Doorglass Inserts Recalled Due to Wind-Borne Debris Risk
ODL Inc. is recalling Severe Weather Doorglass Inserts sold at Home Depot and Lowe's because the adhesive bond can separate during hurricanes, creating a risk of injury and property damage from windborne debris.
What this means for you
Minor labeling or packaging issue, or a voluntary precautionary recall. Risk of harm is low but real — follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Our severity reasoning: The source states no injuries or illnesses have been reported, and the hazard is theoretical—the inserts pose a risk under specific severe weather conditions. This is a voluntary precautionary recall with no actual harm documented, meeting the criteria for a Moderate severity score.
Plain-English summary
ODL Inc. of Zeeland, Michigan is recalling Severe Weather Doorglass Inserts that were sold at Home Depot and Lowe's stores nationwide and online (HomeDepot.com, Lowes.com, and Zabitat.com) between May 2022 and February 2023. The products were also sold under the brand names Western Reflections and Kenyon's Glass, and were often incorporated into completed door-and-doorglass products sold under the Jeld-Wen brand.

About 39,100 units are affected. The recalled doorglass inserts have date codes of 05/01/2022 through 12/06/2022, located on the bottom corners of the doors.
No injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately contact ODL to arrange for a free repair or replacement by a qualified technician.
