Time-Cap Labs Inc. is recalling approximately 209,430 units of Kroger-brand aspirin (81 mg delayed-release tablets, 300-count bottles) and ibuprofen (200 mg softgel capsules, 160-count bottles) sold nationwide. The products do not have child-resistant packaging as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). Because the packaging is not child resistant, young children could open the bottles and swallow the contents, creating a risk of poisoning.
The aspirin was sold at Baker's, City Market, Dillons, Food 4 Less, FoodsCo, Fred Meyer, Fry's, Gerbes, JayC, King Soopers, Kroger, Mariano's, Metro Market, Payless Super Market, Pick 'n Save, and Smith's stores nationwide from August 2021 through March 2022 for approximately $5 per bottle. The ibuprofen was sold at the same retailers (plus Quality Food Center and Ralph's) from July 2021 through March 2022 for between $12 and $16 per bottle. Affected aspirin has UPC 4126001295 with lot numbers A077J, F032H, F035H, J011H, or K031H. Affected ibuprofen has UPC 4126001298 with lot numbers FH1163, C11044, C11047, C11064, C11065, C11079, or C11084.
