Sobeauty Inc. is recalling approximately 600 "Mag Cube" magnetic ball sets sold online at Walmart.com from March 2018 through December 2019. The sets, which contain 216 spherical high-power rare earth magnets, are labeled as "3D MAGNETIC PUZZLE," "MAGCUBE BUCKYBALLS," or "JOYNOTE" with "MAG CUBE" on the back of the box. The magnets are gold, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, or purple and range in diameter from 3 to 5 millimeters.

The recalled products violate the federal standard for children's toys. When two or more high-powered magnets are swallowed, they can link together inside a child's intestines and clamp onto body tissues. This can cause intestinal obstructions, perforations, sepsis, and death. While no injuries have been reported specifically with these recalled sets, CPSC staff has received numerous incident reports of ingestions involving other small, high-powered magnets, many of which required surgery.
