Dr. Adorable, of Chicago, Ill., is recalling approximately 12 bottles of Sweet Birch Essential Oil in 4.4 fl. oz. and 8 fl. oz. sizes. The product was sold exclusively online at Amazon.com from January 2020 through March 2020 for about $17.

The recall is due to a failure to meet the child-resistant packaging requirements of the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). The product contains methyl salicylate, a substance that requires child-resistant packaging. The current packaging is not child-resistant, which poses a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children. No injuries have been reported.
