Plain-English summary
Homestar North America is recalling approximately 33,300 Finch three-drawer dressers due to tip-over and entrapment hazards. The recalled dressers are unstable if they are not anchored to the wall, which poses a risk of death or injuries to children. The dressers were sold in maple/bank adler, black, torino walnut, and white finishes, either alone or as part of a matching bedroom collection.
The affected dressers measure 28 inches high, 27.5 inches wide, and 16 inches deep, and weigh about 47 pounds. They feature three drawers with brushed nickel finish metal handles. The model number and manufacturer name are printed on a label located on the back of the dressers.
These dressers were sold online through Amazon.com, Hayneedle.com, Overstock.com, Walmart.com, and other online retailers from January 2016 through May 2019 for approximately $90. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
Consumers should immediately stop using any recalled dressers that are not properly anchored to the wall and place them in an area that children cannot access. Homestar is contacting all known purchasers directly to provide a free tip-over restraint kit and a one-time free in-home installation of the kit. Consumers can also contact Homestar toll-free at 877-353-5999 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit www.homestar-finch-recall.com for more information.
