These units were sold nationwide from January 2010 through February 2018 for between $700 and $1,400.

The recall is due to a defect where the outdoor fan motors can overheat, creating burn and fire hazards. Goodman has received nine reports of the units catching fire, including one report of smoke inhalation that required medical attention. Most of the recalled units are installed in hotels, motels, schools, apartment buildings, and commercial spaces.
