Greenfield World Trade Inc. is recalling about 14,000 EZDRY food dehydrators. The recall involves white, six-tray dehydrators marked with the model number EPD60W and date codes 2116, 2416, or 3316. These units were sold at Kohl's stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com from June 2016 through February 2017 for between $40 and $50.
The dehydrators can overheat, causing the plastic unit to melt. This overheating poses fire and burn hazards. The firm has received 13 reports of the dehydrator overheating and melting, including six reports of fire and one report of property damage to a counter top. No injuries have been reported.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled food dehydrators. They should contact Greenfield for instructions on returning the product with a prepaid shipping label for a free replacement or full refund.
