Plain-English summary
Stork Craft Manufacturing USA Inc. is recalling approximately 18,500 foam crib and crib/toddler mattresses with model numbers 06710-100 and 06710-200. The affected mattresses were manufactured between August 2014 and January 2015 and feature a zippered white fabric cover with a 5-inch-thick foam core. The model number, date of manufacture, and manufacturer name are printed on a white federal label attached to the cover, and the packaging displays a Graco logo.
The recall was issued because the mattresses fail to meet the mandatory federal mattress flammability standard for open flames, which creates a fire hazard. No injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.
The mattresses were sold at Walmart stores nationwide and online through Amazon.com, EChannel.com, ToysRUs.com, Walmart.com, and Wayfair.com from August 2014 through April 2015 for between $38 and $50. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mattresses and contact Stork Craft to receive a free, zippered mattress barrier cover that is placed over the foam core and under the white mattress cover.
