Plain-English summary

All Power America is recalling approximately 10,000 single stage snow throwers, model SB044P. These units are black and yellow with a red gas tank cap, feature a 20-inch clearing width, and are equipped with an 87cc, 4-cycle engine. The model number is printed on a yellow and black sticker on the top of the unit.

The recall is due to a fire hazard. Exposure to Chinese gasoline during overseas testing caused the carburetor needle to corrode, allowing fuel to leak. The company has received 58 reports of carburetor leaks, but no fires or injuries have been reported.

The snow throwers were sold at Menards Stores and independent hardware retailers from September 2012 through December 2013 for about $200. Consumers should immediately stop using the snow thrower and contact All Power America toll-free at (888) 896-6881 or online at allpoweramerica.com to obtain a free repair.
