Plain-English summary
DGL Group Ltd. is recalling approximately 99,000 Vibe USB Mobile Power Bars due to a fire hazard. The power bars, also known as portable USB power supplies or portable chargers, were sold exclusively at Five Below stores nationwide from January 2014 to March 2014 for about $5. The devices are rectangular, measure one square inch by three inches long, and feature a cord with a key ring. They were available in black, white, blue, green, pink, and purple, with "Power Bank" embossed on the face and "Vibe" and "Power Bar" printed on the packaging. The model number FB-Bar is printed below the UPC code on the bottom of the packaging.
The recalled power bars can overheat, posing a fire hazard. DGL Group has received six reports of incidents involving melted parts, smoking, leaking batteries, and fire resulting in reports of bursting power bars and minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled power bar, unplug it from the electrical outlet, and return it to DGL Group for a full refund and a $5 coupon towards another purchase at Five Below.
