Brower Division of Hawkeye Steel Products Inc. is recalling about 2,500 Top Hatch egg incubators. The recalled Model TH120 incubators are round, light gray plastic units with a clear plastic top, measuring 18 inches in diameter and 12 inches tall. The product is used to hatch various types of eggs and features a crank arm and turner motor in the base that rotates the tray.
The recall is due to a fire hazard where the base can ignite during use. Brower has received three reports of fires, all of which resulted in property damage. No injuries have been reported. The recalled incubators were sold at Mills Fleet Farm, Stromberg's Chick and Gamebirds, Unlimited, and other farm supply retailers from January 2009 to September 2010 for about $190.
