Plain-English summary
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is recalling 2012 Papyrus Signature Collection picture frames due to the presence of Aspergillus mold spores. The frames are made of a metallic-looking resin material and were sold in two colors and sizes: a green 4 by 6-inch frame and a red 5 by 7-inch frame. They were packaged in a decorative box made of heavy paperstock with a distressed painting and jeweled lid finish.
The mold spores pose a risk of respiratory or other infections in individuals with chronic health problems or impaired immune systems. No injuries have been reported. The frames were manufactured by Idianale Inc./Dekokraft, Inc., of Pasig City, Philippines, and imported by Schurman Retail Group of Fairfield, California.
Approximately 105 units were sold in the U.S. and 3 in Canada between September 2012 and November 2012 for approximately $44 and $48. Consumers should immediately place the frames in a container and return the product and the decorative box to their nearest Papyrus store or contact Schurman Retail Group for instructions on how to return the product for a refund.
