These products are novelty desk toys containing 216 small, silver-colored, spherical magnets approximately 5 millimeters in diameter. The magnets were manufactured by Global Goler Co. Limited in Guangdong, China, and imported by Reiss Innovations LLC of Manchester, Connecticut.

The recall is due to an ingestion hazard. When two or more magnets are swallowed, they can link together inside a child's intestines and clamp onto body tissues. This can cause intestinal obstructions, perforations, sepsis, and death. While Reiss Innovations has received no reports of incidents or injuries involving this specific product, the CPSC has received 80 reports of incidents involving ingestion of other high-powered magnets, resulting in 79 reports seeking medical intervention.

About 500 units were sold exclusively on Amazon.com and Dynocube.com from July 2011 through April 2012 for about $20. Consumers should stop using the recalled magnet sets immediately and contact Reiss Innovations for instructions on returning the magnet sets for a full refund.
