Plain-English summary

Club Car, LLC of Augusta, Ga., is recalling about 100 model year 2012 gas and electric powered utility and transport vehicles. The recalled vehicles include various sizes and models, such as the Café Express, Carryall, Turf, TransPorter, and Villager series. These vehicles were sold at authorized Club Car dealers nationwide in April and May 2011 for between $6,000 and $11,000.

The recall is due to a hazard where the brake pedal mounting blocks can crack and separate. This failure results in a loss of braking ability, which can lead to a crash. Club Car has not received any reports of the brake pedal mounting blocks breaking, and no injuries have been reported.

Consumers can identify the affected vehicles by their model and serial number, which is located above and to the right of the accelerator pedal. Club Car is providing a free replacement of the brake pedal mounting blocks and is contacting its customers directly. For more information, consumers can contact Club Car toll-free at (800) 227-0739, ext. 3831, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit www.clubcar.com.
