These garments were manufactured in China and sold at Ron Jons' Surf Shop, Dillards, and McCaulous stores nationwide from June 2009 through August 2009 for about $65 each. The RN #85773 is printed on the care label in the neck.
The recall is being issued because the sweatshirts have a drawstring through the hood, which can pose a strangulation hazard to children. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reports that no injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the sweatshirts to eliminate the hazard. They may also return the garment to the place of purchase or to La Jolla Sport for a full refund.
