KYMCO Recalls 2006-2008 MXU 500 ATVs Due to Suspension Failure

KYMCO USA is recalling approximately 1,350 model year 2006-2008 MXU 500 All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). The recall is due to a defect where the pivot bolts holding the rear suspension to the frame can become loose. This failure can cause the rear swing arm to detach from the chassis, posing a risk of injury or death to the operator if the rider loses control of the vehicle.
The affected ATVs were sold at KYMCO dealers nationwide from November 2006 through December 2007 for between $6,000 and $6,500. KYMCO has received six reports of incidents related to this defect, including two reports of minor injuries.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ATVs and contact an authorized KYMCO dealer in their area to schedule a free repair.
