What this means for you

Plain-English summary
RC2 Corp. is recalling approximately 160,000 units of The First Years 3-in-1 Flush and Sounds Potty Seats. The recall involves seats with either a yellow chair and green seat or a blue chair and white seat, both featuring "100 Acre Wood" molding and a plaque with Winnie the Pooh and Tigger characters. These products were sold at mass and specialty retailers nationwide from April 2006 through August 2007 for between $20 and $25.
The hazard is that the decorative plaque inserted into the back of the potty seat could have orange paint containing excessive levels of lead, which violates the federal lead paint standard. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
Consumers should keep these recalled items away from young children. They should contact RC2 toll-free at (866) 725-4407 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit www.recalls.rc2.com, to receive a permanent clear protective cover for the plaque. The unit can still be used as a potty seat after receiving the cover.
