These countertop ovens were sold exclusively through QVC and various online retailers from October 2006 through May 2007 for approximately $125.

The recall is due to a defect where wires behind the control panel can overheat, creating hazards for fire and electric shock. QVC has received 49 reports of incidents associated with the product, which include five minor burns, five electrical shocks, and 11 incidents of minor property damage to kitchen cabinets and countertops.

Consumers should immediately stop using the affected ovens. Those who purchased a Cook's Essentials oven through QVC broadcasts or QVC.com and have not been contacted should call QVC at (800) 367-9444. Consumers who bought the oven at a QVC outlet or retail store should return it to the store for a refund. Owners of Deni brand ovens who have not been contacted should call Keystone at (800) 336-4822. QVC and Keystone are offering a replacement oven or a refund.
