The recall involves specific batch codes listed on the side of the white pails with blue labels and lids.
The recall was issued because the 5-gallon plastic pails containing these cleaning products can unexpectedly crack and leak from the base. This defect poses a risk to consumers due to the corrosive nature of the liquids inside. Acuity Specialty Products Group Inc. has received three reports of leaking pails, but no injuries or property damage have been reported.
Consumers should stop using the recalled products and contact Acuity Specialty Products Group Inc. at (888) 591-5053 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday to receive a free replacement pail. Those with a leaky pail should place it inside another 5-gallon pail or large plastic bag, pour the remainder into a new labeled container, and use gloves and eye protection when handling. Spilled material should be absorbed, swept up, and discarded, with the area rinsed with clean water until no residue remains.
