Charles Products, of Bethesda, Md., is recalling approximately 720 Maui Ocean Center Toddler Drinking Cups. The cups are made of clear plastic with two handles and a blue lid with a spout. Inside the cup, a dome-shaped container holds blue and clear liquid along with two toy dolphins. The text "MAUI OCEAN CENTER" is written on the side of the cups.
The recall is being issued because the internal container holds petroleum distillates that can leak onto the outside of the cup. This leakage could come into contact with the user, posing a poisoning hazard to children. CPSC and Charles Products have received one report of the petroleum distillates leaking from the bottom of the cup. No injuries were reported.
The cups were exclusively sold at the Maui Ocean Center in Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii, from June 2003 through September 2004 for about $10. Consumers should immediately take these cups away from young children. Consumers should return the cups to the store where purchased for a refund or contact Charles Products at (800) 242-7537 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
