These trimmers feature red engine covers, a red fuel cap, and a label on the recoil starter that reads "Professional Shindaiwa."

The fuel cap on the recalled hedge trimmers can leak, which poses a fire and burn hazard. The company has reported no injuries or illnesses associated with this defect.

The affected hedge trimmers were sold at Shindaiwa dealers nationwide from August 1997 to August 2003 for between $370 and $450 depending on the model. Consumers should stop using the hedge trimmer and return the red fuel cap to the dealer for a replacement cap.
