The recall involves 2-tone blue or all-black models equipped with Rotax 4-TEC V-1000 or Rotax 2-TEC 800 SDI engines. These vehicles were sold by Bombardier dealers from December 2002 through January 2003 for between $8,399 and $9,849.

The recall is due to a defect in the Start/RER switch (SDI models) or Start switch (V-1000 models). This defect can create two hazardous conditions: the vehicle may start by itself if the engine cut-out switch is left in the "ON" position with the tether cap on the switch post, or the engine may stop and restart in reverse stationary mode while idling (SDI models only). These conditions pose a hazard to the driver and persons nearby. No injuries have been reported.
