Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. is recalling approximately 45 Model FD750D overhead-valve (OHV) engines. These 27-horsepower, liquid-cooled engines are used in Ventrac compact articulated tractors. The recall covers engines with serial numbers ranging from 000001 through 020851.

The recall is being issued because vibration during operation can cause abrasion wear to the fuel tube, leading to a fuel leak. If the leaked fuel comes into contact with a spark or flame, it can cause a fire and burn hazard. Kawasaki has received one report of fuel leakage that resulted in a fire and burn injury to the operator.

Consumers should stop using the affected tractors immediately. They should contact the authorized dealer from whom the tractor was purchased to schedule a free repair. The repair involves installing a new fuel tube with a protective cover and a new clamp to hold the fuel tube in place.
