Ace Hardware Corp. has received two reports of hatchet heads detaching. In one incident, a detached head struck a bystander in the head, resulting in a cut that required 32 stitches. These hatchets were sold at Ace Hardware Stores nationwide from March 1994 through April 2000 for about $18 each.
