The affected items include Harris Teeter Fresh Foods Market Deli-Bakery brand BBQ Style Chicken Artisan Pizza, Chicken Sausage, Egg White and Cheese Breakfast Burrito, and Bacon, Egg and Cheese Burrito, as well as Trader Joe’s Carnitas with Salsa Verde Burrito. These products were produced between September 27, 2017, and October 15, 2018, and shipped to retail locations nationwide.
The recall was initiated after Bakkavor Foods USA received notification that the onion ingredient used in these products was being recalled by its supplier due to possible contamination with Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes. The products bear establishment numbers EST. 19198, P-19198, EST. 46937, or EST. 45335 inside the USDA mark of inspection.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Consumers who have purchased these items are urged not to consume them and should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. Individuals concerned about an illness should contact their healthcare provider.
