The issue was identified after a school reported that food handlers found thin, wire-like metal on the exterior of the product during preparation. The metal was not reported to be embedded in the food. The products were shipped to schools in Minnesota through commercial sales, not as part of the USDA National School Lunch Program. FSIS is concerned that some product may still be in school freezers.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions or injuries from consuming these products. Schools are urged not to serve the recalled items.
