Forest River Bus, LLC is recalling certain 2010-2020 Starcraft Prodigy and Quest school buses, as well as 2013 Starcraft Rondak school buses. The recall involves 854 vehicles in total.
The exterior front roof panel on these vehicles was manufactured with inadequate joint strength. This defect means the vehicles do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 221, which governs school bus body joint strength. If the roof panel separates during a crash, it may increase the risk of injury to occupants.
Dealers will secure the exterior front roof section free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 31, 2024. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-800-348-7440 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
