Plain-English summary
Reading Truck Equipment LLC is recalling 116 Curt trailer hitches with part numbers 15402 and 15845. These hitches were installed on 2023-2024 Ford F350 and F550 vehicles.
During the installation of the hitches, the fuel tank was dropped and the fuel tank strap fasteners were not properly tightened when the tank was reinstalled. An improperly secured fuel tank can separate from the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect and tighten the fuel strap fasteners free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on November 4, 2024. Owners may contact Reading customer service at 1-800-458-2226 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
