Forest River is recalling 156 model year 2017 Dynamax Isata motorhomes because a missing cable tie may allow liquid propane to enter the cabin, increasing fire risk.
What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (missing securing cable tie) that creates a significant risk of fire due to propane leakage, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.
Plain-English summary
Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2017 Dynamax Isata motorhomes, including models ISC24FWM, ISC24RWM, ISC35DBD, and ISC36DSD. These vehicles were manufactured between May 19, 2016, and October 19, 2016. The recall covers 156 affected units.
The defect involves a potentially missing securing cable tie on the rubber grommet for the copper liquid propane gas line. If the grommet is not properly sealed and secured, liquid propane may enter the cabin, creating an increased risk of a propane leak and fire.
Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the grommet and install a cable tie as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on November 21, 2016. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-262-3474 extension 203, or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
