The recalled wrenches contain a software error that may allow the tool to produce more torque than the amount set by the operator. If the lug nuts are over-tightened, the wheel attaching studs may fracture, causing the wheel to separate from the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.

SAT will notify purchasers of the tools. The recall began on August 25, 2016.
