Outdoors RV Recalls Trailers Due to Fire Risk from Pinched Wires

Outdoors RV is recalling 2015-2016 Timber Ridge, Glacier Peak, Wind River, and Black Stone trailers because liquid propane hoses and electrical wires may be pinched or scraped, increasing the risk of fire.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (inadequately secured lines/wires) that creates a significant risk of fire, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.

Plain-English summary

Outdoors RV Manufacturing is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Glacier Peak and Timber Ridge trailers, as well as 2016 Wind River and Black Stone trailers. The affected vehicles may have inadequately secured liquid propane (LP) hoses and electrical wires that allow them to be pinched or scraped during the movement of the kitchen slide-out room.

If the wires or lines get pinched or scraped, the wires may short or the LP lines may leak. Either condition increases the risk of a fire. The recall began on December 4, 2015.

Outdoors will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the LP line and electrical wires, securing them as necessary. Any damaged wires or hoses will be replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. Owners may contact Outdoors customer service at 1-541-624-5500 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
