What this means for you

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect where fender separation creates a road hazard and increases the risk of a crash, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.

Plain-English summary

Fleetline is recalling certain Nu-Line and Fleetline Fender Brackets and Fender Kits with Fender Brackets. The affected part numbers are N230PMLH, N230PMRH, N230-19L, N230-19R, 1650-1, 1650-2, 1650-7, and 1650-8. These parts were manufactured between January 1, 2015, and April 13, 2015.

The recall is necessary because of an insufficient weld in the affected fender brackets. This defect may cause portions of the brackets to separate, resulting in the fender not being properly supported. If the fender is not supported, it may contact the tires and be torn from the vehicle, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

Fleetline will notify end users and offer replacement brackets that bolt on, free of charge. The recall began on June 26, 2015. Owners may contact Fleetline customer service at 1-615-382-6100 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
