Plain-English summary
Crossroads RV is recalling certain model year 2012 Elevation recreational vehicles manufactured between November 7, 2011, and February 22, 2012. The recall involves 24 vehicles where the onboard, auxiliary fuel storage tank is installed too high. This installation error prevents the tank from being filled properly, which can cause fuel to come back out of the fuel filler neck and spill.
The spilled fuel presents a safety hazard. In the presence of an ignition source, the fuel could cause a fire or an explosion, which may result in personal injury or death.
Crossroads will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel tank mounting brackets free of charge. The recall began on June 28, 2012. Owners may contact Thor at 937-596-6849 or Crossroads at 260-593-2866. Customers may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.safercar.gov.
