The recall addresses a defect where the adhesive bond between the sunroof glass and the metal frame can debond.

This debonding increases the risk that the sunroof glass will separate from the vehicle. The separation can develop gradually, potentially evidenced by metal corrosion around the frame, wind noise, vibration, visual bond separation, or water leakage. If the glass separates, the falling glass could create a road hazard, strike a trailing vehicle, and cause a crash.

Owners who have been identified as having an affected sunroof will receive a safety recall notice from Webasto. The safety recall began on October 8, 2010.
