What this means for you

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect where the sunroof glass may separate, posing a risk of striking a trailing vehicle and causing a crash.

Plain-English summary

Webasto Product North America, Inc. is recalling certain Hollandia 700 and 600 Series and Hollandia TVS 900 Series sunroofs. These sunroofs were installed as original equipment by Webster's Ultimate Performance, LLC on various passenger vehicles.

The adhesive bond between the sunroof glass and the metal frame can debond, increasing the risk that the glass will separate from the vehicle. Signs of this issue may include metal corrosion around the frame, wind noise, vibration, visual bond separation, or water leakage. If the glass separates, it could create a road hazard, strike a trailing vehicle, and cause a crash.

The safety recall began on October 8, 2010. Owners of affected vehicles will receive a safety recall notice from Webasto. To determine if a vehicle is affected, owners can review the affected vehicle list provided by Webster's Ultimate Performance, visit Webasto's website at www.sunroofcheck.com, or call Webasto toll-free at 1-888-749-8632.
