Dutchmen Recalls 2008-2011 RVs Due to Refrigerator Fire Risk
Dutchman is recalling certain 2008-2011 Grand Junction and 2011 Voltage recreational vehicles because their Norcold refrigerators may not shut off power quickly enough to prevent a fire.

The recall addresses a defect in the refrigerators' safety mechanisms, specifically the sensing algorithm or thermal switch designed to shut off power when high temperatures are detected.
The response times of these safety devices are not sufficient to stop power quickly enough. If a possible hydrogen gas leak causes high temperatures, the devices may not shut off the refrigerator in time to prevent a fire. The safety recall began on December 10, 2010.
Dutchmen is working with Norcold to identify and notify affected owners. Owners will be instructed to contact Norcold dealers to receive the remedy free of charge. Owners may also contact Norcold at 1-800-767-9101 or Dutchmen at 1-574-537-0700 for additional information.
