Webasto Product North America, Inc. is recalling certain Hollandia 700 and 600 Series and Hollandia TVS 900 Series sunroofs. These units were installed as original equipment by Auto Trim Design & Glass on various passenger vehicles. The recall addresses a defect where the adhesive bond between the sunroof glass and the metal frame can debond.
This debonding can develop gradually and may be evidenced by metal corrosion around the sunroof frame, wind noise, vibration, visual bond separation, and/or water leakage. If the glass separates completely, the falling glass could create a road hazard, strike a trailing vehicle, and cause a crash.
The safety recall began on October 8, 2010. Owners who have been identified as having an affected sunroof will receive a safety recall notice from Webasto.
