Blue Bird Body Company is recalling certain model year 2008 through 2010 All American and Vision model school buses. These vehicles were manufactured between May 23, 2007, and March 9, 2010, and are equipped with Caterpillar C7 engines. The recall affects 3,686 vehicles in total.
The defect involves the #5 and #6 fuel lines, which may crack at the fastening point to the common fuel rail. This cracking can cause a fuel leak. If a fuel leak occurs in the presence of an ignition source, it can result in a vehicle fire.
Blue Bird is working with Caterpillar to notify owners. Repairs will be performed by authorized Caterpillar dealers free of charge.
